Do zones respect quantizers limitation from advanced option?
Say I severely limit quantizers, then for credits I wanna create a zone with 30% quality. Will this zone automatically adjust quantizers even if those ones I set do not allow to get 30%, but only say 60%?

Coz at the moment it looks like zones are working only with quant limitation (may be it was intented like that), but imho more useful would be 100% zone is based on those quant and the rest is automatically adjusted.

P.S. Also is this true that quant-based zones ignore manual quantizers?

If you mean that you could do a 1-pass Q=2 encode with a weight zone for the credits at a constant quantizer of 20, sure. If not, what do you mean? :)

AFAIK, weight zones take quant limiters into account. And yes, quant based zones forget about limiters, i think.

Anyway, let the devs speak.

no, basically what XviD can't do is produce a given target size (2 pass encode) with say 2/3 quantizers and Zone for credits with say 30% quality. It will be always oversized since credits will also be encoded with 2/3 quants and not 30%...
