XviD with full 6 channel audio -TO- DVD ?

I've pulled the .avi apart with Virtual dub and got a 6 channel .wav file, is there some way i can convert this to a .ac3 file ?

The movie part I have changed to mpeg with Mainconcept MPEG encoder

But to re compile this lot with either DVDLab of TMPGenc-DVD (neither of whish support a 6 channel .wav file!

this isn't really an Xvid question, but there is a way to do this.

(6 ch wav? that's gotta be huge!)

check the audio encoding forum for detailed info, but generally you'll probably need besweet and ac3enc, or alternatively you can buy a commercial encoder (better quality) like Soft Encode. i think soft encode inputs 6ch wav, you've just got to make sure you know which channel is for what, or your audio will be all over the place.

there's some pretty concise guides about on doing this stuff, and i'm probably not the best one to tell you as most of my audio is 2 channel :)

ahh, well this sounds a bit difficult... I've just been told that Steinberg's Nuendo (suround sound edition) can handle these 6 channel .wav files
I HOPE!!!! that it knows where to put the channels!
otherwise it sounds a bit scary!

so my next question is 'How do you extract the .ac3 from a XviD .avi file ?

VDubMod has a handy "Demux" option in its Streams/Stream list Tab that could work for you.
