bought dvd-set, now wife broke one..can i exchange the dvd ?

hi,

i know its a weird question....but maybe someone can give me advice what to do.

We bought that "The complete Bean" Mr. Bean DVD set not long ago at Borders. Now...my wife just cracked one of the three DVDs taking it out of the case....

Does A&E or Borders have any policy which would allow me to exchange the cracked DVD for a new one ? I mean, we have the original so i dont think the question is that dumb ? :) I was at the www.aetv.com website....but i didnt see anything related to support etc...

one would assume that the disc was defective if it could be broken during normal use (those cases p*ss me off too...)

it takes a very large amount of force to break a CD/DVD... if the case was so useless that you couldn't get the disc out without applying a force so large it would break the disc, then it is not your wife's fault - it is poor packaging.

borders will probably say something to the contrary, but screw it - stick to your guns.

consumers are too often blamed for what is simply bad design.

I think most stores do returns for the same title in case of defective product. Certainly, this is a case of defective merchandise. If the slob who waits on you gives you crap, just ask for the store manager or name of regional manager/office.

I doubt you can get a replacement for just the one cracked DVD, but they should do an exchange for the entire set.

not long ago Oh. I did not see this the first pass. How long ago was it? If more than 30 days you may need to fight but Borders is big and should square up with you.
