Gabest, quite simply, you're a god. Unfortunately, your scripture is not very clear (what a clever pun... :( ). Is there a site that has a description of everything on your sourceforge page? Some stuff is obvious, but other stuff isn't.

In layman's terms (and lame man) what do these do?

D2V source CDDA Reader: Read Audio CDs (Compact Disc - Digital Audio) with a directshow-based player.

Matroska muxer: used to mux matroska files from various A/V sources into the matroska container (usually using graphedit)

D2V source: directshow filter for playback of .d2v project files created by DVD2AVI (well actually plays back the DVD files the project file refers to).
