Hi there
I'm not a newbie to video in general, in fact, i've programmed a video conferencing software using dshow and my own video codec.
However, I don't know much about common problems when ripping a DVD.
To my problem:
A friend of mine ripped an episode of Alias to watch it on his optical-drive-less notebook. He encoded the episode in mpeg 2, about 450mb. Probably he transmitted the file over an erroneous channel to his notebook, don't know.
When playing this mpeg encoded episode, it freezes (picture, no sound during this periode) every time at the same point for 12 seconds in Windows Media Player 9 and for 5 seconds in Video LAN Player.
And that's happening at 3 points of the episode, as mentioned, every time at the same second.
What could be the problem?
A corrupted i-frame?
Thanks - Andy
