Hi,
i am trying to use the big3 method to shrink the Dune R2 (about 6Gb)
dvd. I see that although dvddecrypter goes to 100% only half the disc is being copied(transferred size = 3Gb). The movie is 2:40 min long and i get 1:24 min ripped to the drive. Doitfast4U demultiplexes this file with no problem but where is the rest of the film gone?

Do you use NTFS or FAT32?

hi,
i use NTFS on XP Pro . I have mounted the image of the dvd with Deamon Tools and try to use the Big3 method but stuck with DVDdecrypter!. Tried dvddecrypter on its own but still get half the movie ripped to the hard drive! Possible a bug?
I use version 3.2.0.0 .

Tried to rip with the latest dvddecrypter version but no luck. The total size is 6.9Gb and only 3.6Gb are being transferred!!!
Well i am getting tired of this. I will try smart ripper.

You ripping files or to a .iso?

what files isn't it ripping correctly?

In FILE mode there is no problem. It happens only when trying to decrypt in IFO mode. I have selected the largest title. It only transfers 3.6Gb out of 6Gbs. VTS_01_1.vob to VTS_01_4.vob and VTS_01_0.IFO . The mounted image file has VTS_01_0.vob to VTS_01_7.vob.

If the all of the files can be ripped to your hard drive, then you can create and iso of the files using ImgTool and then mount that image with Daemon and use DIF4U etc...

This isn't really a 'fix' for the problem of only half the movie being ripped to your HD, but it's a workaround. If this is only happening w/ the Dune DVD, then just use the workaround and move on...sometimes weird things happen.

Rather than doing that why not just select ISO->read and save the whole Dvd image to the HD and then mount with Daemon Tools.

Angelus : my thoughts exactly,

If your planning on using DoItFast4u your going to need it in iso format (the hd demux lacks a lot of the support from iso)

I'd rip to .iso and save yourself a lot of headache

Maybe I misunderstood him, but I thought he said that he wasn't able to extract the whole dvd to an ISO but was able to extract the whole dvd using file mode. I wasn't suggesting using file mode in DIF4U.

Just to clear things a bit. I have the movie Dune which is on 2 DVD-9 discs. The second disc works fine with the big3. The problem concerns the first disc.
1. I can rip the disc in iso format to the drive and mount the iso file with Deamon.
2. When i start Doitfast4U which loads the latest DVDdecrypter program only half the iso is riped and demuxed. (3.6 Gb out of 7Gb.)
3. DVDdecrypter can rip the whole disc in file mode.
4. DVDdecrypter rips half the dvd when in ifo mode.
5. Can i use DF4U when using DVddecrypter in file mode? (HDD demux?)
6. I use WinXP pro on NTFS.

2. are you receiving any errors in DIF4U? please, if you have not already done so, select 'Create Debug Log' in 'options' in DIF4U, and 'do it' again. then check the log file for any errors, and post the results here.

And maybe it would be helpful to tell us the file structure of the first dvd that doesn't work, like the different VTS's and their sizes, pcg's etc. and what you have checked in DIF4U.
