Remove the letterbox in DVD

Any Avisynth compatible filter availible can handle this job?
Cause I get some DVD(Music Video)have letterbox on top and bottom in the video frame.
Anyone can help?

Usually Autocrop will give you a good cut. If it's a bit off, you can tweak it afterwards.

hehe... to tell the truth i never bother with pixel-accurate aspect ratios.

i never watch the TV directly front-on, so it really makes no odds to me :)

of course, if i were doing this professionally i would give accurate AR

cropping is a manual process. have your script ready, load it into vdub(mod). check your letterbox and adjust your crop values until the letterbox is complete (black borders are removed). better yet, start from scratch and read up on the doom9 guides as suggested many times earlier. yes?

if you have virtualdub, open the video with it and load null transform in the filters. in the cropping option, note how much must be cropped off the top and bottom, and the height of the final video after pressing okay.

now assuming the number of the lines off the top is TOP
the width is WIDTH
and the height of your new video is HEIGHT

then do

Crop (0, TOP, WIDTH, HEIGHT)

then resize it.

for pal anamorphic: BilinearResize (1024, HEIGHT)
normal: BilinearResize (768, HEIGHT)

for ntsc anamorphic: BilinearResize (852, HEIGHT)
normal: BilinearResize (640, HEIGHT)
