Make a movie 1 Chapter, 1 Cell

Hi all,

Is it possible to edit IFO files of a movie to make it have only 1 chapter and one 1 cell. So, all the movie would be on one cell/chapter. If yes, can you explain me how please ? Thx.

Yes, I would like it be only one cell. Is it possible ? I know chapters are based on cells, so if there is only one cell, it can be only one chapter. Right ?

Just try out the guide and tell me what you think. With only one chapter, regardless of cells, you obviously can't chapter skip. If you really wanted a single cell, you can always re-author without celltimes.

Easy if your VTS contains only movie. Demux video, audio and subpicture streams from movie PGC, open IfoEdit, press DVD Author -> Author new DVD, enter all streams and NO cell times. Replace original VOB files with new, edit number of cells in movie PGC to 1 and do a strip streams, keeping all streams and only VOB ID 1.

If there are other PGCs in the same VTS you might need to combine this with 2COOL's split/join guides. Basically you would need to split your VTS to vobs, then work on individual vobs and finally join them back, always keeping track of vob/cell IDs.

Just in case, always keep a backup copy of original files.

Thx to want to help me. What I want is to keep all the DVD and not only the movie. There is surely a much easier way to do it. Something with changing values in IFO files. 2COOL can surely give the trick to do it. :)

Just out of curiosity, why exactly do you need a single cell? I don't see how you can benefit from it. Although it's posible do to, it could turn out to be a waste of time.

Ok, I'll tell you why I wanted this. I wanted this to backup the DVD with DVDRB as a only one cell to get a better encode under CCE. So, I wanted then to reconstruct the DVD with cells as origine. But I just read that it's something impossible because each start of cell needs an I frame. So, no more need to worry about, I'll just wait that jdobbs makes this tool better and better. :)
