hey there my fine and funky fellow forum members,

for what its worth i have recently finished a beginners guide to BOV that uses spiderman as the example. it is partly a result of this thread (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=69979&highlight=complicated+subtitles) and also as a response to compiling a reference of BOV tips and tricks.

the guide is primarily aimed at beginners. although many of the subjects detailed also apply to advanced users.

Eyes`Only has graciously offered to host the guide, and if your interested, here is a link:
A Beginners Guide to Button Over Video (http://www.doitfast4u.com/.\SPIDEY_GUIDE\A%20Beginners%20Guide%20to%20Button%20Over%20Video.htm)

edit:\

please post any comments regarding the guide here, and i will try to keep it updated as new tools/methods emerge.

cheers
j

edit:\ RBs' tools are now linked and online ... thanks Eyes!

For anyone searching for RB's demuxing tools: http://home.t-online.de/home/340044300675/rip.zip

And Jel: very nice job. I've read the guide superficially (it's kinda big :) ), but will read it with some more attention soon. From what i've seen from it it's very nice!

it's kinda big lol :D , yeah it was getting out of control, but unfortunately thats what happens when your trying to explain EVERY step you take. originally it was intended to be a collection of known threads/issues to help troubleshoot BOV questions but it sort of took on a life of its own.
i might re-organise the tips and tricks section a little and post it as a seperate thread so that other forum members can add their experiences to it.

theres a great song by concrete blond early on in their career that has a relevant quote in it:
"and i never could say anything in twenty words or less..."

and thanks for the positive feedback .. it means a lot.

btw Eyes has hosted the links to RBs updated tools now.

Haris,

please PM me with your email address and i will send you a .pdf version of the guide, as i am really not sure if it will ever make its way online again. to be honest, i am impressed that someone still wants to learn how to do this manually. :)

cheers

Hi J

PM sent - looking to do this myself on a regular basis but have no real idea as it doesn't work simply dropping the SPHL image in the track - I must be missing a step or two
