playback with nero's decoder

I'm trying to playback high resolution xvid media with nero's mpeg4 decoder, but not in nero's player. I've heard the nero decoder is much faster than ffdshow and xvid decoders. ffdshow is just barely too slow to play the high res stuff so I'm hopeful the nero decoder will solve the problem. Unfortunately, that nero player just can't do it. Too CPU intensive I think. I'm trying to get it to work with bsplay or some other less CPU intensive player. Anyone know if its possible to use the nero decoder outside of nero products?

to answer my own question:
You have to completely uninstalled xvid or ffdshow to get the nero digital codec available for playback of xvid. And ffdshow is better, at least for hdtv resolution stuff I'm messing with.

I don't think you need to do that. Simply increase it's merit using RLFM or use a player which enables you to build custom graphs ...
