Hi everyone,
I am encoding a file that I know is interlaced (it is recorded from TV in the US), however it is reported as hybrid. What exactly does this mean and is this expected? Thanks.

I think it means that, some scenes are 29.97 fps Progressive, and some scenes are Interlaced (60fps).
Like the news (CNN) the CG is progressive, but everything else is Interlaced.

But the capture card doesn't know what type the stream is right? Its just encoding 59.94 fps interlaced from the broadcast to the hardware encoder. I don't think it has any way of telling if the broadcast is interlaced or not. It should just assume it. I could be totally wrong however. Thanks.

Sorry about that, I was tired and forgot to mention that I am using AutoGK.
