I think I would have figured this out a year ago, but the Big 3, has pretty much made me a thoughtless drone since then - now its come to bite me back in the.... er.. anyhow

I have a dvd I want to personalize a bit. Basically the original menu links to a movie trailer, that I want to replace with another movie trailer I have (from another dvd). I'm sure something like this has been discussed before(I'm just not having much luck at 3am with Search). The added difficulty, is the new trailer has subtitles, while the original one on the dvd does not (There's also 5 channel sound in the new one, while the old one was 2 channel). So the differences between the ifo's are a bit significant. The goal is to keep the original movie and menu, with the new movie trailer in it. Suggestions on how, would be great.

I would try to do that using MenuEdit and its Replace functions. Have a look at FAQ on menuedit.dimad.net.
Alternatively you could try DVDReMake also by Dimad (www.dimadsoft.com)

Have you tried to edit audio and subpicture stream attributes for corresponding PGC with IfoEdit?

I've managed to shove it in. BUT, it only plays the length of the original trailer (this one is longer). I've poked around in Ifoedit, trying to change the playback values for it, but not much luck. I've tried edited these under VTS_PGCITI (from THAT video's VTS ifo):

[00000004] Playback Time (BCD)
[00000102] Playback Time (BCD)

I changed the play length from 58c0 to 150c0. Which shows up as 1.50/30fps in Playback time (hh:mm:ss.frame) (underneathe the 00000004 and 102 values). However on playback, it still plays its original 58secs . So, clearly Im missing some other values to edit. Any idea where to look/change?

edit - forgot to the one guide on vob extras, correcting the ifo's. Now all i need to do is, fix the audio and sub colors, and I'll be done (i hope - so far everything is playing back fine now).
