i have made a video clip in mpeg2 with resolution of 640x480 on Adobe Premier then i cinverted the video to DVD format wtih TeMPG. however, when ii burned it on DVD the video was cropped from the sides on TV. when i try the same video on the computer DVD player, the picture is perfect.

Does anybody have an answer .... please?

TV overscan. Many (probably most) TVs scan the image signal beyond the edges of the screen (all edges - top, bottom and both sides). The amount of overscan varies from TV to TV. I believe the industry has rules for handling overscan. For example, DVD authoring programs define a 'safe area' for placing subtitles to ensure they will by fully displayed on any TV.

Ideally, when you create a video clip you should take overscan into account and make sure everything important appears in the safe area. You may be able to get away with adding a border around your clip. How much border to add depends on your clip and what you want to achieve.

By any chance, you didn't specify 1:1 as an output aspect ratio instead of 4:3 in TMPGEnc? Note that source aspect ratio in Advanced settings should be set to 1:1.

All that sounds excellent, but the problem is my video file is 3:4 and it plays very well on the screen. is there a program that can change the file size to accomodate the Over Scan problem?!?!? is it possible to do it on Adobe Premier???

Please advise.....
