As subject says. There are a lot of registered users who posted only 1, 2 or 3 times and years ago. Then they "disappeared".
For example my real username in EVERY forum im registered (except this one  ) is "Ebola" and i couldnt register it due to an ooooold registration: http://forum.doom9.org/member.php?s=&action=getinfo&userid=18943

well.. how do you really know that an account is no longer used? I mean, sure we do have statistics about when the last post was made, when the account was last active, but what does that really tell you? Maybe somebody is away travelling the world for half a year, thus there won't be any activity for that amount of time. Or somebody opened an account to make a post once upon a time, and now just browses the forum as a guest until there's reason for another post.
As you might know, there's a 5 day waiting period in between you being allowed to post and signing up, so if somebody opens an account to be able to post in the future, and then the day he/she really wants to post their account is gone and they have to wait for another 5 days.. that's not an ideal situation either, is it?
The account you're refering to for instance has been unused for 2.5 months only, not years. Post dates are usually not last visit dates..
