When I try to convert some of my mpeg4 videos to mpeg1 or 2 using a mpeg encoder. It says the audio is uncompatable becaused it was compressed wrong. How can i change the audio so that it is compatable?

Hello, chaotzuchaotzu, welcome to Doom9's forum.

You might try Doom9's step-by-step guides (http://www.doom9.org/conversionguides.htm), and see if they help you.

I am trying to make a vcd. I have made the video Mpeg1 but the audio won`t play. I have used different guides but even after using them it still won`t play sound. Also the sound on the original video is MP3 and I have tried it converted to WAV. Can I use either of these formats? What am I doing wrong, this is really frustrating

For VCD the audio should be mp2. So convert the wav to mp2 and multiplex it with video.

I have some software for converting audio files, but I am still trying to learn how to use them. What program would you use to convert wav. to mp2?

For VCD your audio should be 224 kbps Constant BitRate (CBR) 44.1 samplerate mp2. Then it should work.
