Ok i'm just curious. I was going to just encode my dvd's using xvid but decided to try burning them onto another dvd. I've already ripped them using the smart ripper so I just have a bunch of files. Is it possible for me to just simply burn these to make an exact copy or do i have to use other programs? The actual size comes out to like 3 gigs so I don't need to downsize anything.

Yeah, you can simply burn them, but you have to do it right. For example in Nero, there is a special DVD-Video mode, where it creates VIDEO_TS folder for you, and you just drop all the IFO/BUP/VOB files into it. The deal here is that it creates UDF filesystem on the disc. If you burn in Data mode (DVD-ROM), you could end up with ISO9660 (CDFS) filesystem only, which won't play on a standalone.
