I don't know if this is the correct thread to post this, I just use the big3 method so I would be familiar to any relevant solution.
I have a 4.37GB DVD (single-layer) which has been wrongly encoded as 4:3, while it's in fact 16:9. This has resulted in a stretched picture (no bars above and below the movie picture). Whereas I can bypass this issue when I view the DVD on my TV set (by turning on its 16:9 function), I haven't found a way to view it properly on PowerDVD or WinDVD. Is there any way to make a new DVD which will have the 16:9 flag corrected, and not having to reencode the whole thing (since it already fits on an empty DVDR, and also wouldn't want to cause any additional quality loss)? Any opinion would be appreciated
PS: the DVD is movie only, no menus
