ac3 > vbr mp3 (e.g. with BeSweet in GK) still too low...

DVD's ac3 soundtrack's volume is already too low in 2-channel stereo speakers.

I've got 480 watt PMPO speakers. I've increased window's volume to max, the software player's volume to max, and what elso can I do other than changing the volume level in the audio file or changing the speakers themselves ?

try compressing it in besweet instead this time, and using normalise. that will give you usually 8 - 18 db extra depending on how much it peeks. only problem is, it needs to do a first pass to do it...

I hear some increase in volume can be obtained for ac3 source played thru 2-channel stereo speakers using Valex's ac3filter ? If anybody has any experience on that, can you please inform, if it's not too much trouble ?
