xvid avi

hello,

can anyone explain to me why an xvid avi file will not play on either media player or powerdvd?

i can't remember the progeramme you use that can play anything?

can anyone clear up why this is happening

well an xvid avi should play in wmp, but give players like bsplayer, zoomplayer or media player classic a try. you can find links to the downloads on doom9.org

My guess is that you need one of the two following pieces of software installed: The XviD codec (compressor / decompressor)

The ffdshow filter (decompressor only)
