View Full Version : TMPGenc problem while using DVD2SVCD to make DVD from AVI input file

This is my first post even tho I've been a member since July 2003.

Here is the current information taken from the Dvd2svcd window. Presently TMPGenc is doing it's part. The problem is that while analyzing TMPGenc is showing 2482 Hours left in process.

Can anyone see for the data below what I have done wrong here. Normally it's a 1 1/2 to 2 hours operation on a 700 MB Avi file.

I'd appreciate any help.

Thanks

Hm... Hard to tell. I suggest you to check for:

a. IDE channels being in PIO mode
b. Heavy filtering on your AVS file (post you AVS file)
c. TMPGEnc on its own to see if the problem shows up anyway.
d. Priority of TMPGEnc in relation to other programs in Task Manager.

Please tell us what you found.

Thanks to those who read my post. I sat up all night and all today trying to resolve the problem(s) I've been having.

So far I have managed to produce two files. One is a mp2 made from a wav I demuxed. The other is a mpv. I was planning to just write them onto a DVD. Now I find that the mpv is not standard for DVD. It's NTSC Film 23.976 fps. AVIcodec reports this file information on the mpv.

851 MB, 1150 Kbps, 23.976 fps, 352*240 (4:3), MPG1 = MPEG 1 (VCD), Supported

TMPCGenc wants nothing to do with it so I guess it's back to the drawing board. Just wanted to make some statement to ease my hours of frustration and wandering in the wilderness.

thanks

>Please tell us what you found.

Thanks for your suggestions

a. IDE channels being in PIO mode
Not sure about this but doubt if it's the problem as I've done these tasks OK in the past.

b. Heavy filtering on your AVS file (post you AVS file)
Since rewritten so don't have the particular file in question

c. TMPGEnc on its own to see if the problem shows up anyway.
Yes, this is what I did to produce an mpv file with no audio. Extracted audio to a separate file. At this point I have a perfect DVD type audio. Video is still giving me problems as it's non-DVD compliant so I'm starting another attempt to produce a correct video file.

d. Priority of TMPGEnc in relation to other programs in Task Manager.
It's at normal priority. Don't know what caused the hang. I let it run for 6 hours as I was doing something else then I aborted it and began to work as mentioned above.

Thanks
