Hi.

According to the official DivX 5.1.1 FAQ, in case of a multipass encode, one can choose the first passes to be done at Standard Performance/Quality and then the final pass to be done at Slow, in order to get a better result.

What I would like to know is how I can implement that through GKnot in case of a 2-pass encode. In the Options tab I have already set the Performance\Quality to Standard in the First Pass settings but I would like to know what I should do to change it to slow for the final pass (2nd Pass)... Should I set it to Slow in the Nth Pass settings or in the Last Pass settings and check "Use differemt last pass settings" ? What's the difference between those 2 options in a 2-pass encode ?

Thanks in advane for any help.

Hi iparout

Afaik when doing a two pass encode it doesn't matter which of the two you options you use. The "Use diferent last pass settings" option is for three or more passes. So you should be fine if you just set first pass to standard and n'th pass to slow or slowest for a two pass encode. Also remember to disable the "read mv file" option in the n'th pass settings when you are using different last pass settings.
