Hi,

I got a self-made DVD bought through e-bay and now I don't have any sound on my standalone dvd-player. On PC there's no problem.

The problem is, that even software like CloneDVD or Nero can't figure out, what kind of audio-format that is.

My question:

Is it possible to rip the audio, convert this to ac3 and remux it with the video? Or do I have any other possibilities?

Thx!

Two things: First, it sounds like the audio is MPEG1/2, which many US DVD players don't support (most do, but there are still a bunch out there that don't). Check your DVD player's manual, as some of them will support MPEG1/2 audio, but you have to enable it.

Second, you could use TMPGenc or something similar, go to MPEG tools and de-multiplex the video/audio. It will dump the audio into it's native stream (probably MPEG1/2). At least you'll have it easily separated and you can deal with converting it to AC3 or something else.
