What's the difference between RDO and no RDO in h.264 standard??
The criterion of mode decison is SAD in no RDO and it is the result of
RDO equation in RDO mode??

RDO is not a part of the h.264 standard.
It's an algorithm which uses a "smarted" parameter for motion vectors and mode decisions, rather then a simple SAD, just as you wrote.

The RDO (Rate-Distortion-Optimizations) are a technique for "motion estimation" and mode decision, instead of simple SAD a Cost parameter is derived. The JVT reference software uses this method for coding decisions. Originally the method was tested and used in H.263 (and MPEG-4) as you probably read in the articles reffered :confused:

Xvid uses RDO too. They call it VHQ. And I believe the DivX encoder also does RDO - when you set it to the slower encoding modes.

So it's nothing unique to H.264. What is interesting, though, is that the JVT code is the first reference software to implement RDO.

I guess it has something to do with the people that lead the JVT, these are the same people who first used RDO for video coding :rolleyes:

Actually RDO is based on Lagrange Multipliers which is a mathematical method for solving several problems that resemble "motion estimetion" in video coding.
