please tell me!! what dvd?

i have being reading the forums for 3 days now and still can find out if ritek or Verbatim are the bet media out there. can any of you ( that burn dvds alot ) tell me what brand is the best to burn dvd backups? i like ritek g04 because they are very cheap but if i end up losing my data i would prefer to pay for the Verbatim. thanks for all the answers ><!!
