Hi, I have several dvd's that I want to merge into one DVD.
Each DVD contains about 20 minute movie, so merging several into one is achievable. I use DVD2AVI and TMPEGENC to generate my mpeg files.
However, when I attempt to load the mpeg into my DVD burning software (Adobe Encore) I encounter an error message that the mpeg resolution is not high enough for burning into DVD format!

Perhaps I should follow a different procedure to encode my movie before import!

Please note that I am not trying to make a backup. I am building a menu and wish to view the movies from one DVD instead of several.

I appretiate any suggestions that you may offer.

You can use DVD2DVD mode of DVD2SVCD. During the process the mpeg files will be created. Just stop the process after video encoding, and you have the audio and the video mpeg2 streams. They can be found in the D2S working directory named Encoded_audio.mp2 and Encoded_video.mp2 or something like that. These files absolutly DVD compliant, there can be no problems. You can use these to create Your DVD.

Hi,
sorry for the delay. My computer was down and I could not proceed with your suggestion.

After trying DVD2SVCD I found that I am missing the Encoded_video.mp2

Would you happen to know which setting I maybe missing?

Thanks

ooops..
sorry, I wanted to say 'encoded_video.mpv'. Anyway, you have only one file called ecoded_video.* that is your video.

Hi,

Yes, check 'Do not convert audio' on the Audio Tab.

Hi ee,

I didn't mention a file, but, the following audio file should exist: extracted_audio_1.ac3. If besweet was run (in order to correct the delay), then encoded_audio_1.ac3 will be produced. You should have one (if not both of these). Please post your dvd2svcd_log.txt file, so we can see what is going on.

I would guess that you are not running DVD2SVCD in DVD2DVD mode, since you are getting bbMPEG files & wav audio files. These are not created in DVD2DVD mode; at least I've never seen them!

Bob

Hi Bob,
you were right, I was in the wrong mode. I changed it to DVD2DVD by selecting Misc->Output file type->DVD. After that I get the Encoded_Video_TMPGEnc_NTSC.mpv.

The DVD contains music in addition to the movie. And in my case it renders the few screen shots that are present for the audio segment.

I've failed trying to select a different sequence by chosing: Conversion->Movie length->Track length

Would you happen to know where I can select the appropriate movie sequence?

Thanks

Hi ee,

Are you ripping the correct ifo file? By default if you click on the disc symbol in the conversion tab, it picks the ifo corresponding to the longest titleset & gives you the option of which audio tracks you want to select in the window below.

If you are using the program in file mode (source is on your hard disk), then you have to select the correct ifo file, which is generally the ifo with the most corresponding vobs (largest titleset).

Look at this guide to see if it helps: http://www.mrbass.org/dvd2dvd/

Bob
