could not find vob unit in file?

In response to my recent whinging about the quality of my burned disks (i've never had so many coasters) I have stumbled across another problem

I have tried to shrink the file in dvd shrink to see if the burn would be any better and i get the message 'invalid data file \VIDEO_TS\VTS_01_0.VOB'

When i open up the file in ifoedit i get an error message sayin 'could not find vob unit in file'

Any ideas what the problem could be?

Any solutions on how to mend it?
