View Full Version : working realtime with line-in signal

I have my TV connected to the line-in on a audigy 2 zs which passes 5 analog signals to an amp. So I need to be able to decode the line-in signal to pro-logic in realtime somehow. The audigy 2 includes CMSS but I would prefer pro-logic.
So is there any way to do this?
Is it possible to get something like 'MatrixMixer' to handle the signal from the line-in?
Tnx

Hi,
I have wanted to achieve this for ages, but have failed to find a program. I to have a Audigy2 ZS, I posted a thread a while back asking the same question as you, but no one could help me.

I have my Stereo TV Tuner plugged into my line-in, and I want to use ProLogic on the line-in signal to achieve 5.1 sound, because most of the programs and even most commercials have a Dolby Surround (Stereo) signal.
note: CMSS etc, isnt true Dolby ProLogic, meaning it only adds reverb and delays etc, it dosnt properly "decode" the signal.

Hey all, I've had similar questions. I think it all boils down to the fact that the CPU is a RISC rather than DSP. The CPU decode takes 100-200 msec usually. This is noticable if you want to decode audio without a delay in video. A hardware decoder uses a DSP that can do it in much less time without affecting a/v sync a noticeable amount.
It may be possible to do the decoding with the built-in DSPs on the soundcard, but that would be a topic best suited to a good hardware programmer :)

Hm, I would however still like to try something - Using graphedit I pass the line-in signal through cyberlinks audio effect filter, since this can decode dpl, and from there to the audio renderer, but the audio renderer buffers 500ms in graphedit, so is there any way to adjust this buffer?
What about ASIO and graphedit?
I tried using ReClock, but graphedit set the buffer to 500ms even after I changed it with ReClocks own config?!?
Just grasping at straws perhaps...:)

Try running the audio and video into graphedit, and having graphedit keep the sync. It should delay the video also. Of course that is assuming you have access to the source video. And I don't think you are going to get that delay less than 200 msec.
