Hi, I'm on the scrounge again!
I'm on the look out for an particular 6Ch AC3/Mpeg2 (.vob) channel mapping encode.
The AC3 audio stream must include, somebody saying: "front left, front right, centre, back left, back right, LFE" - but not necessarily in that order.
And the Mpeg2 video stream must include a graphic of the speakers. Ideally displaying the 'active' speaker.
I had such an encode some time ago... but I can't find it :(
Many thanks

There's a Divx5/AC3 avi encode here (http://www.tfm.ro/ac3/2frames.html) that sounds like what you're looking for. The video could be encoded to MPEG2 easily enough if you need a VOB sample.

It's a very nice encode, unfortunately I don't have the necessary tools installed on my HTPC to demux, convert and recode the DivX5 stream to Mpeg2 and mux it back into an .vob container.
And I'm currently upgrading the motherboard and memory of my '2.8GHz P4 Encoding PC'. It's all in pieces at the moment :(
Can anybody oblige please

I reencoded it quickly and threw it on my webspace....it's slow though Right click > Save as (www.freewebs.com/kpex/surround.test.vob) (4.1 MB).

Thanks KpeX,
I've just downloaded your encode. Well I say 'just'!
You were not kidding when you said the download would be slow. The speed never got above 900bytes/sec :D
I very much appreciate you doing this for me. Thanks again.
Cheers
