DVD shrink 3.1.6 and regional protection

DVD Shrink has taken it upon itself to consider my Toshiba 1712 as rpc 2 and has counted down to lock the drive. Checking with Nero Infotool and Driveinfo, it is still an RPC 1 drive. Que pasa? (Wazzup?)

This issue was caused in v3.1.6 onwards because dvdshrink added some code to check if the disc in the drive matched the drive's region code. Some multi-region firmware (particularly my pioneer 105 & lite-on 166) say they are in RPC-2 mode when interrogated by shrink. Hence unchecking 'Check RPC-2 ....' disables the check and everything works ok.
