This is a vob on an extras disc that i do own. It was ripped with DVDDecrypter.

Here is my process:
Vob--->DVD2AVIdg Creating an d2v file and ac3 file
D2V file--->Tmpgenc Creating m2v file
M2V+AC3 multiplexing--->tmpgenc creating mpg file

Somwhere i am losing the first three seconds of video, which happens to be the first chapter in the title. There is also no audio in this part. In the final mpg file the audio/video sync is off by three seconds. Is there a way to A) Not lose three seconds of video or B) Use a particular program to sync the two files correctly.

Thank you in advance for any help that may be given.

Do the 3 secs perhaps belong to some logo (displayed before the movie) which you removed in the ripping steps? Alternatively, some vobs will simply have an audio delay.

I assume your destination is DVD. In that case, use ifoedit or rejig for muxing and specify the audio delay at mux time. Alternatively, there is AC3 delay corrector to change the delay specified in an AC3 file.

I couldn't find where to adjust the delay in ifoedit, and AC3 delay corrector would not work on my system(program said some file was missing). I did however find a program Delaycut that i was able to cut out the first three seconds of audio as well as video. I didn't know there were ac3 editing tools, I had only heard of wav editors. Anyway my file is working correctly now, thanks for the help.
