Hi everybody! I have problem with Scenarist that I liked
wary much. I am trying to make mix of favorite songs
on DVD. But when I export assets to scenarist Audio and
Video are out of synchronization. I do not re-encode my
Streams. I just cut them from DVD. The same assets
Synchronized in DVD Maestro.
Thank you, for you valuable help!

im going to assume that you live in a NTSC region...are your assets' time code drop frame? if not, do so...that may be the cause of your async video and audio

@Bigslava
In addition to the above, click on every video and audio file in Data Editor and check the Properties window. For each song, Data Start Time and Data End time should be exactly the same for video and audio files.
Otherwise there is something wrong.

nondrop frames is 30fps, no frames are dropped so after 00:08:59:29 will come 00:09:00:00 - used for black and white tv if i remember correctly
drop frames is 29.976 fps, every minute two frames are dropped except for minutes with 0's (00:, 10:, 20:, 30:, 40: & 50:) so after 00:08:59:29 will come 00:09:00:02
Although usually not an issue for non-broadcast applications, in broadcast, the small difference between real time (or the wall clock) and the time registered on the video can be problematic.
Over a period of 1 hour (SMPTE) the video will be 3.6 seconds or 108 extra frames longer in relation to the wall clock. To overcome this discrepancy drop frame is used.

I am sorry for probably stupid question. How to change to non-drop frame?
I go to Settings-Default settings-Assets and change it to NTSC Drop Frame.
But when I return to track editor it shows non-drop.
Thank you for your help!

you need to make your assets drop frame via the data editor first before you import them into the track editor,
you cant change the frame type once your assets have been imported into the track editor

Thank you. I have found how to change to non-drop. At
list track by track. So just disregard my previous threat.
What I would like to ask, if I can put 4:3 and 16:9 in
one project? May be at the different VTS. I tried, but
I did not know how to make second VTS to work.
Sorry for such a lot of questions. I am new in Scenarist.
And I like it so mush.
Thank you for help!

ask as many questions you feel fit...
what i do is...i put a 12 frame dummy file into the VideoManager Menu
i usually put the main menu in VTS_1, now lets say VTS_1 is 4:3 and VTS_2 is 16:9...i have the main menu (in VTS_1) point to the dummy file in the VideoManager and have that point to VTS_2...it's really simple

Thanks hendrix for your answers.
Do you know if I want to import an video at 29.976 fps in Maestro I must to set somewhere the drop frame or non-drop frame?

with Maestro..its automatically set...if you encoded drop frame then maestro will make it drop...easy

I think that was my problem when I tried to import Maestro Chapters (.chp) made by DVD Decrypter or Chapter Extractor and giving an error about I-frame selection (?).
hmm... that error must to be elsewere... :(

is your timecode a colon or semicolon
colon is for nondrop (00:00:00:00)
semicolon is for dropframe (00:00:00;00)
its been a while since i used Maestro, but if i remember correctly, open your .chp file with notepad or whatever and check if your frames is either a colon or semicolon and reimport your file - it should work.
