easiest, shortest question first: which is better, 2.5x or Beta12? i did a google and didn't find too many sites, but one i looked that comapred b12 with 2.53 .. just didn't feel right. like they were trying to skew it almost... http://www.digital-digest.com/dvd/articles/tmpgenc_test.html .. that's the link, just in case...
also, the main thing i was looking for (on google, but not having much success) was Motion Search Precision... as CCE mysteriously stopped working for me, i'm having to switch to TMPGEnc. i'm encoding one of the LOTRs to a 1DVD, and any time i can shave off what looks to be at LEAST a 26 hr 2 pass encode would be nice (i was doing a 6 pass in 18 hours in CCE...!) if the difference between Highest and High, or Highest and Normal isn't that much...
(i'm going to 4:3 LBX to save bitrate in the LBXing as i don't see a 16:9 or HDTV in my near future, FYI)
