Trying to batch encode. Got my .bat file setup properly and followed directions perfectly (stopping after audio extraction).
I get this EVERY time:

List index out of bounds (0). I have searched the forum and found a few other people as well that have had this problem and SO FAR nobody has been able to answer the question of WHY this happens in trying to batch encode. It only happens then, not anytime else. I have already done an uninstall/reinstall but I suspect this is a BUG within dvd2svcd and that bites. I have followed the instructions of stopping/closing it just after audio extraction. Notice in the logfile how it doesn't actually do the audio conversion either. I tried closing the program after the conversion and seeing if it would just jump to the encoding but it just does the same thing. Can someone (maybe the Author) explain why this happens and how I can keep it from happening? Or is it just a bug? Thanks!

OK I'm at a loss here.
Firstly to clear one matter up, I doubt the author would be interested. Batch mode for AVI files isn't really supported, only for DVD2... . Lots of people asked about it and a forum user came up with a way of "faking it" for AVI's. I tested it, it worked, so I added it the the FAQ's.

A couple of users have then since reported similar problems to you. As yet I have found no answer. This is mainly because I cannot replicate the problem - in testing a pre-release beta of the next version of D2S I have done about 100+ test avi encodes in the past month, each in batches of 6 using PAL and NTSC files with each of the 3 encoders! They all bar one worked. The only way I have managed to replicate the error you're having was when I screwed up my batch file and pointed the -d2s argument in the line

"C:\Program Files\DVD2SVCD\DVD2SVCD.exe" -d2s:"I:\Movie\2\dvd2svcd project file.d2s" -run -exit

to a folder which did not contain a project file!

I have found this method far from useless! It's been a lifesaver for my testing! I can only imagine, therefore that you and me are doing something differently along the way. Perhaps the writeup in the Q+A leaves some things open to incorrect interpretation. All I can suggest is if you could please post your batch file and write out in as much detail as possible each step of the operation as you do it.

I can then replicate as close as possible what you're doing and if I can replicate the problem, rewrite the entry in the FAQ to close any ambiguities.

Cheers
Nick

EDIT - just to double check you are not using D2SRoBa, FACAR or AutofitCD as these will cause problems with AVI batch conversion.

I got it to work! Thanks! You convinced me to go over the batch files with a fine tooth comb and I figured out the quotation marks were not in the lines properly. Grrr!! I have almost 100 pal avi's to convert to NTSC mpg. Normally this would be a nightmare but I have persevered. BATCH processing PAL avi's to NTSC mpg using D2sRoba in-sync and ready to burn to dvd :

Now its ALL good. Yea baby!

I've been running all my encoding for the past 2 or more years in Batch mode so there is NO way it doesnt work. Good to hear you found your simple typo error.

What is the process of making a batch file? I just need to convert a bunch of AVI files to DVD, not pal-ntsc conversion.
