My system recently crashed and I had to reinstall all my software. I am running GK 28.7, Avisynth 2.5.4, VirtualDubMod 1.5.10.1 & DivX Pro 5.1.1. I had copied the mpeg2dec.dll's to my Avisynth Plugin folder like the instructions say to do.
When I open my .d2v file, press Save & Encode, I activate the Use selection & when I press Now I get the following error:
Asynth open failure: Plugin C:\...\Asynth 2.t\Plugins\mpeg2dec.dll is not an Avsynth 2.5 plugin.
(C:\...\GordianKnot\LastCompCheck.avs, Line 7).
The date on the Mpeg2Dec.DLL in my system is 9/22/2001.
Can anyone point me in the correct direction?
Thanks...M

Select Options tab, be sure that "Use alternate mpeg2dec.dll in scripts" is selected, and that you are using mpeg2dec3.dll.
The latest release of Gknot is 0.28.7.2.

Thinks jggimi for the response I followed your advise to Select Options tab, be sure that "Use alternate mpeg2dec.dll in scripts" is selected, and that i am using mpeg2dec3.dll.
I got error message Access Violation at 00140e757 attempting to read from 0x00000000
I think my best bet is to reinstall everything.
Where can I get the latest release of GKnot 0.28.7.2?
Thanks...Minorquam

I got the GK 28.7.2 and installed 0.28.7 then 0.28.7.2update. I then installed Avisynth 2.5.4.
I installed VirtualDubMod 1.5.10.1 & VirtualDubMod 1.5.10.2389. I then copied MPEG2DEC3.DLL to the Avisynth Plugins folder.
The mpeg2dec3.dll is version 1.0.1.0 Dated 10/2/2003.
After initialization of the GK Apps, I started it up & ensured the programs tab entries pointed to the correct programs.
When I opened up .d2v file, I pressed the encode & save. I selected VCD resolution. I selected Use then Now.
Received VirtDubError Box with following statement:
Avisynth Read Error .. Avisynth: caught an access violation at 0x02559277 attempting to read from 0x00000000
I am running WinXP Pro, 1GHZ P/4 w/512MB memory.
H E L P!! Thanks...M

Hi-
Please open the .avs directly in VDubMod. It should give you a more detailed error message. If that doesn't point you to the problem, maybe post the .avs here (without any lines beginning with "#"), and we'll have a look.

Thanks for your response. I started my project completely over instead of picking up where the problem started, and it seems to be working. Thanks for your patience...M
