Can somone help me when i back up my dvd movies i use dvdshrink to decode and shrink the film. I use re-author mode and have tried full back up also.

I use nero 6.0 visionexpress burn the dvd movie files to disk.

when i play them on my pc all works fine when i play them on my home dvd player the disk is recognised as a cd rom and the folders appear has vts _1 etc. when i play the movies plays but stops at each chapter and needs me to interveene by choosing the next folder down and pressing play.

My backed up dvds play fine in everybody else's dvd player is this the problem. I need to change my dvd player

to confuse matters even more, a friend of mine borrowed me a copied movie to watch and this played fine.

What am i doing wrong ?

It looks like you're burning in DVD-ROM mode, i.e. as a data disc. Try using DVD-Video compilation mode in Nero (not nerovision or express).

@freedomuk

If your friend has a cheapo DVD player like APEX, it'll play anything. There are alot of factors to consider and your burn mode might be one of them. So, I agree with dimmer.

By the way, what's this thread have to do with "decrypting" problems? If you want to get more and better responses, you should've posted in the approriate forums like One click DVD backup solutions or DVD burning.
