I have 3 question for DVD Shrink using.

1. Question
This case. Often I set (in Re-author mode) main movie with 'No compression' and bonus movie or final credits with 'Automatic' or 'Still pictures'.

This main movie with 'No compression' don't need transcoding (I think logically) - but DVD Shrink transcode (respectively analyse too) him yet! Why???

When I have _ALL_ with 'No compression' DVD Shrink don't transcode... O.K.

2. Question
How I set different compression for parts of one title, _without cutting_ this to two independent titles? E.g. first 100 minutes (main movie) at 90% (or No compression), and last 15 minutes at 40% (or Still pictures).

3. Question
I have DVD with "Cinema Cut version" and "Director Cut version" (Alien Quadrilogy) - both versions of movie sharing major parts of VOBs. I want on 1xDVD-R both versions.
If I use Re-Author mode, DVD Shrink simple duplicating this :-( ... DVD Shrink don't identify, that this titles are shared.

1. I don't really understand what you mean. How do you know when DVDShrink is transcoding and when it isn't?

2. Incredible and undocumented DVD Shrink feature!! (http://forum.digital-digest.com/showthread.php?threadid=25375)

3. I don't think you can do what you want in re-author mode. This isn't so much a limitation of DVDShrink. It's more just the nature of the beast - to have two version of the movie that share common celss you'd need two PGCs, and you'd need a menu to select between the two PGCs, and that's beyond the scope of what re-author does.

I think your options here are:
- do a full disk backup shrinking everything else to still frames with no audio
- look at a stripping solution: DVDRemake, TitleSetBlanker, DVDStripper, or even IfoEdit

Kedirekin has answered the 2 questions but the first does interest me

I've noticed during testing that although I have set titles to No Compression, DVDShrink still goes through the motions. I know it does the analysis part at least but I cancel before it completes as I'm not processing it fully. Therefore even at No Compression it seems to take longer due it it analysing the parts that don't need reducing

I can't recall the times but could it be due to linked titles?. Maybe I had audio selected to be removed I don't know but it does happen

Instantcopy was the same where all the linked titles would be treat as one

I'm not playing with Shrink at the moment but I'll keep an eye out next time I fire up Shrink in case anyone doesn't come up with an answer

as for the Alien issues, do you have the Combine Titles option selected or not?
Is there 1 or 2 titles for the main movie?
Are the versions within the same PGC or 2 separate PGC's in the IFO's?
