I was wondering if there exists a special filter for noisy digital camcorder videos. Digital camcorders when they do not have enough light cause a distinct noise I have the feeling (like real white pixels etc). It looks totally different than say just old VHS movies (IMO). I currently use Pixie as a noise filter but was wondering if there is a better match for that ...

I'm going to suggest something strange but I think you should try it. In my filter development, I noticed that Pixie filters dark areas much better than white areas. Since we can't realy see noise in bright areas, we don't notice that much but a motion mask will show us very nicely.

If your noise is white, try inverting the video, running PixieDust and then inverting the video again. (By invert, I don't mean turning frame, I mean creating a photo negative.)

Let me know if this is more effective for you.
