Won't be to market for another 6 months or so, but definitely some food for thought for anyone thinking about investing in a disc printer.

i can't wait. The current disc printers suck to say the least. The 99 dollar one is basically a dot matrix printer.

The professional ones out there now have professional prices, I would never spend a thousand bucks on a pro printer.

This looks good though.

That thing looks genius! I'll definitely grab one when they're out. Although I've got to say you can get decent printers that print direct to disc at the moment. I've got the Epson Photo 900 (bought in a sale @ Dixons for £80) and the results with that are great. Good quality prints right to the center of the disc.

I have an Epson R200 (new model) and the Ritek DVD looks like a charm.
Very good quality and it only costs 100 euros

So have I and I think it's a brilliant printer.. Not classed as a photo printer, but it's output is damn close to it!

HP estimates that a drive that uses LightScribe will carry a premium of about $10 over the going price today, and that a disc will cost about a dime more than today's discs.
I'll believe that when I see it!
.
Will hp offer dvd-r media or for that matter dvd-r drives?
.
Will hp be the only supplier of these "dime more" discs?
