View Full Version : Turning mp4 by 90 degrees

Hi there
Bit of a newbie to all this mp4 stuff. I just shot 21 short MP4 movies on my PDA (XDA II) and just realised I should have rotated all my footage by 90 degrees.
Is there a quick way for me to process all these files and get them the right way around? I don't want to have to rely on the player to rotate each time I play it.
Someone replied in another thread with "not without re-encoding". With what and how?
thanks
Cliff

all in all the first thing you should do is to read the rules (again) and follow them
use the search function, you will find lots of answers on how to rotate a video
can a mod plz merge this thread (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=72322) with this one?

Hang on a minute...
The original reply said "BTW wrong forum", without actually telling me which forum it should have been posted in. I assumed "newbies" was what you were driving at so I re-posted.
Also it gave me no info about how I should re-encode. In other words the reply was pretty damn useless.
And I did do a search for "rotate video" and got nothing very useful. Presumably because I picked the wrong forum (mp4 doh!)
Grow up.

rule 2 and 3 should have told you that your post would be moved anyways

you will have to reencode, which means its slow, not easy and you are loosing quality
i found many results when searching for "rotate"
and if you dont know how to reencode you definitely missed rule 1 by far
