Hi

Which full Rippack has your preference?

full rippack is, for me, software as easydivx, divxmachine v2.0, rippack v3 beta 16, gordian knot rippack 0.28(i am not sure Gk is a full rippack)

I am 100% newbie and would like to backup dvd into DivX, with full Rippack in the first time, then with most complicated software as VirtualDub...

Thanks for your help

Stephane

There are several reasonable solutions for easy dvd backup:

Gordian Knot, though development has slowed down for quite some time now. You might want to try AutoGK, that's basically Gordian Knot doing a great part of the whole process automatically. For a newbie it's a good choice imo, though I never tested it personally.

There are also DVX, DVDtoOgm or the commercial Dr. DivX. None of these programs is the "best" or "worst". You'll need to test them and then decide which one you like best.

Wich codec, hmm. If you like it nice and easy, use DivX. If you're aiming at maximum possible quality, use the latest XviD. It requires some more reading and understanding in advance than DivX though.
