dvd2svcd and dvd to dvd option

i have bought a job lot of dvd all in ntsc format - unfortunately i live in pal land.

I though i would convert from ntsc 2 pal using dvd 2 dvd - but it seem that when you do a dvd2dvd(i assume that is a straight copy) the option to convert from ntsc to is greyed out.

so how do i convert a full dvd from ntsc 2 pal without going through the process of converting to mpeg2 and then converting back to dvd

hope you guys can help - been struggling with this for a long time.

I know the problem is with the tv that i have - it can't interpretate ntsc and pal - only pal

If you want the easy option go to Richer Sounds and buy a new dvd player, or TV, or both!

If youve really got that many dvd's will take a lot of effort to convert them all.

dvd2dvd doesn't do full copy, dunno if it will ever do. But the option ntsc to pal shouldn't be greyed if it's really ntsc.
For doing the full backup with ntsc to pal you should go for the big3 (I think it has that option) but it's not easy.
But you should know that almost all dvd players and most of pal tv's support ntsc!

Just run into this problem. Did a search. Found this (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=60855&highlight=ntsc+pal+greyed). I post it just in case it's not too late. ;)
