View Full Version : AVICodec -- wrong duration for MPEG

After I encode a MPEG-2 elementary video stream with CCE 2.67, and examine it in AviCodec, I get wrong duration for the stream. It usually cuts off about 5 sec per one hour of the stream; that is, if the movie is 1:10:26 long, it will only report 1:10:20 or something like that.

Anybody knows why this is and if there is a way to to fix this? Another application to get all the information about the video stream.

I loaded the MPEG-2 stream into VirtualDubMod and got the accurate time there, but it takes quite a while to load the file. I am looking for a simpler way to do this.

Could it have anything to do with the "DVD compliant" flag being raised in CCE? I've read that doing so, messes up the bitrate (sets it to 9800 no matter what your encoded average is)--does it mess up the time as well?
