TMPGE Encoding NO VIDEO?!?

I am trying to encode an avi file to mp2.

I am following the routine that i always have but this time when i start the encoding their is no video in the preview

I let the programme take it's course and when i loaded the mp2 file to play their was no video just the audio.

I feel the avi file is an ntsc which plays fine through media player

i set my tmpge up as follows:

Load the DVD Ntsc template
Load the avi file in the video source
Select ES(Video only) (ES stand for Elemantary Stream)
Change the frame rate to 23,976
Change the bitrate to Constant Bitrate
Set the Bitrate (to my calculated bitrate)
Set Encode mode to 3:2 Pulldown
and then leave everything else to default

Under advanced I:

Set Source Aspect ratio to 1:1 VGA
Set Video arrange method to Full Screen(Keep Aspect ratio)

then i hit start and the preview screen just stays black and the final file just has audio no video???

any help would be greatly appreciated

Because mp2 is only a audio format as mp3 is... :rolleyes:

u mustn't have the codec installed. I am assuming that u have the ffddshow installed that enables you to play the file but can't read it back, in tmpeg, in order to process it.
