Hi I'm a newbie and have run into several problems:
1. Whenever I encode movies using divx/xvid/vp6 the colors always looks less saturated than the original even if I use very high bitrates. So my question is: why do my movies look different playing on WMP than the output seen in the VirtualDub's windows?
2. Whenever I resize my movies to high resolutions like 852 x 480, the output gets very saturated looking (very reddish, unlike the orginal).

Are there any remedies to these problems?
Thanks

i'm a newbie too, but why are u encoding at that resolution? and i think the difference in the way the video looks in the two apps is because of what is used to render the videos, remember its only a newbie talking :)

Try this apps for viewing videos, u can change the renderer used also
Media Player CLassic (http://www.doom9.org/Soft21/Players/mpc2kxp6478.zip)

hope this helps.
