Hi-

...do i something wrong?

No, that's the default behavior. See here. (http://len0xmirror1.serveftp.net/~len0x/tutorial/AutoGK.html#4)

One thing you might try is, after setting it up for 2 audio tracks, go into Advanced Settings and change from Auto to AC3. I think that will work, but I'm not positive. Please be my tester and then report back. :)

tried that already :|

Hi-

Didn't work? OK, now I know. Thanks for reporting back. That means there's no way to do it through AutoGK. If file size isn't important, then you can replace the second MP3 Audio with the AC3. Otherwise, if the AC3 for both tracks is important, then you'll have to do it in the full GKnot.

Hi-

Make a test to make sure it's not the default Preload and Interleave settings that's causing it. Open the finished .avi in VDubMod. Set Video to Direct Stream Copy. Then go Streams->Stream List, and you'll see your audio streams. Right-click each in turn and set both Preload and Interleaving to 96 ms. Then OK your way out of there, go File->Save As, and give it a new name. Then wait a minute or two, and test it out. A lot of people, including me, find that AC3 muxed with the default settings stutter sometimes. Your starting and stopping problem may be similar.

oh my god, it has fixed it :D

1. but what i did? Whats the meaning of all that?
2. Why is the file size now 2 mb smaller?

Great-you got it. Unfortunately, it also means you'll have to remux the audio every time. But at least now you know you can fix it.

As for why it happens, I'd probably make a fool of myself trying to explain it. If any of the audio whizzes read this, maybe they'll help out. Only the AC3 has to be reinterleaved. If one of the tracks is MP3, then don't touch the Preload and Interleaving for that one. therealjoeblow talks about it at the bottom of this thread:

ok thx, but why is the filesize smaller?

Hi-

Less overhead. Or to quote therealjoeblow in the thread to which I linked before:

Besides re-interleaving (which lowers the muxing overhead from ~1.2% with 500m/1 frame to ~0.3% with 128ms/128ms)...

The final filesize is determined by video size+audio size+overhead, which is the amount of data needed to mux the audio and video together. By interleaving with multiples of audio frames (1 frame=32 ms, so that means his 128, and my 96), instead of the default 1 video frame (42 ms), and by lowering the Preload from the default 500 ms to his 128 ms or my 96 ms, much less data is needed for the overhead. I'm not sure that I explained it clearly, or even correctly, but maybe it'll help a little bit.

And this applies to AC3 only, and not MP3. The default settings are fine for MP3 audio.

I'm not sure what this is all about since nobody else had this problem. And I'm not working much on GKnot these days.

P.S. your original problem in AutoGK is fixed in 1.05...

oh kewl,
but i like the possibility to have some filters, some of the DSN episodes are noisy. I will stay with GKnot, but I hope the XVid 1 implementation will come in a few days :)

Realized the sound problem:
if vobsub is started the sound stops, if i copy the file to another folder without the subs it works fine, but if i start the avi with subs the sound stops after a few secs
