i found matrix pal code2 to be quite screwed up when it comes to dvd-shrinking it. i want to do a "main movie only" , no extras, no subs,no menues, only one ac3 stream. i searched the forum a bit and there seems to be quite a talk about the "how to copy the matrix" thing. what one-click-shrinking-tool will copy the matrix without scene jumping and all the errors i read in the forums ? i have dvd2one 1.4, dvdshrink 1.3.6 and instant copy 8.0. or do i have to completely reauthor it with ifoedit and/or scenarist or sth. else ?
dvd shrink displays several titles "1,6,13,14,15" , all 5,221mb, duration 2:10:46 in re-author mode.
can i just try to take one of these titles or will it screw up?

deselect the combine titles option and then select one of the titles in reauthor mode
I don't know which title it will be, but use a player like PowerDVD and select the movie as you would want to play it. Select the option to show information (right click in playback window) and it should tell you what title is playing so you can then select it in DVDShrink
after that you will have the title you want and everything should playback just fine

hm, where is the "combine titles" option in dvdshrink ? can't find such an option in 3.1.6

I believe this option has been removed in the newer versions of DVDShrink.
In re-author mode, title are always separated, and in full-disk mode titles are always combined. I don't believe there are any situations where you *wouldn't* want DVDShrink to work like this. If you re-authored a combined title, playback would be very irritating, and separating titles in full disk mode would just mess up the DVD.

My mistake. I didn't realize the feature had been added back in (or was it never taken out?).

It was taken out and then put back in, but it only applies to full-disc mode. In re-author mode the titles are always separated (and so the option is disabled in re-author mode).
If you re-author Matrix, then you probably want Title 1.
To see the difference between the titles, drag them all into re-author mode, then switch to the "compression settings" tab and click through the titles one at a time. You'll probably see various combinations of audio/subpicture streams different for each title. Choose the title you want, and delete the others.
