Need tool to convert AVI to MPEG

I apologize if this is "Dumb Question", but I have searched the
forums, and read various FAQ's, and I am still unclear about
what would be the right tool for the job. I have a bunch of AVI
files that I would like to burn onto a DVD (regular, not computer).
My authoring software (Roxio) wants MPEG files, and won't deal with
AVIs. I also have the latest versions of Gordian Knot, DVD Decrypter,
DVD Shrink, and Image Tool Classic, so I may already have what I need
and not know it.

Welcome to the forum, harald611!

First off, go to the Guides (http://www.doom9.org/guides.htm) page. From there, click on Format Conversations, then AVI to DVD. Hopefully, this will give you a place to start. Get stuck, post back. Good luck!

You could do that or you can go to the Pegasys home page and check out their new converter. Avi's go in one end and Dvd's come out the other. Bit of silly humor:D :D :D
