Either my eyes are bad, or there's really nothing wrong with that screenie.

If you really think it's got too sharp edges, then soften them?

1)Ditch Warpsharp & conv3d /or place Warp after Mipsmooth & Vague.
2)Add MipSmooth(Preset="AnimeHQ")
3)Add VagueDenoiser(Threshold=2.0,Method=1,Nsteps=4,Chroma=True)

(all settings tweakable, naturally)

You might try HQDering() with the Unfilter "preset". Find it on this forum, it's one of mf's scripted functions. That would get rid of the white halos around the edges (If that's what you mean by "too sharp edges").

The picture is compressed with jpeg.

how would you distinguish between jpeg and divx artefacts ?

do you mean this small white dots included in some black lines?

they might come from the deinterlacing by dgbob.

for anime better use some
kind of kernelbob, tomsbob or even my bobmatcher to get a clean output after deinterlacing. dgbob's results have always stairstepping on diagonal borders

yes... listen to scharfis_brain. hehe.

if the problems are on the DVD they should be squished by resizing to some degree, otherwise de-ringing is the thing.

and Bobmatcher is a real nice script, i suggest you try it. (although i'd rather not have to install mpeg2dec.dll)
