ok I have movies that are widescreen format and I have been following thetutorial on the TMP site as to which aspect ratio and video arrange method to use

I always used to use 1:1 VGa and keep aspect ratio(when the other features aren't available) but now i started converting again and i see all of these new options

what is keep aspect ratio 2 ?, and now what is the difference between all of the source aspect ratios

where can i find a tutorial that shows me the difference between all of them and what is the best one to use for my project
?

if there is something better to use other than 1:1 vga than i would like to use it

I'm in the same boat as you. I keep video aspect ratio at 16:9 display, source aspect ratio at 1:1 VGA, and video arrange method at full screen (keep aspect ratio).

my widescreen movies come out fine, so I'm fairly happy with that.

I suggest you take a small clip from a movie file, and pass it through TMPGEnc - changing the options each time and reviewing the output.

maybe you could then put up a quick guide explaining it to others?
