I have a question about this. After using the ReQuant on a given MPEG stream, what other steps would be needed to rebuild the DVD structure to enable a perfect duplicate of a DVD? Is such a process possible using currently other GPL tools to create a perfect (as in menu structure) copy of a given DVD?
I am actually curious because I am looking into adding the capability into Sizzle for OSX to "resize" a produced DVD in case it is too big for the media.
Thanks in advanced.
Look into the apps mplex (mjpegtools.sf.net) and dvdauthor (dvdauthor.sf.net). Also, look at ReJig, as it does a very similar thing using those tools...
Also, this is probably better fitted to the development Forum...
Cheers,
-Nic
ps
Creating absolute copies gets more difficult as the original IFO files have to be corrected...mainly adjusting pointers and removing streams, etc

I'll take a look at ReJig. If it can be moved to development forum that is great.
I didn't know if anyone else has hacked together a process to rebuild. Will DVDAuthor allow for an almost exact duplication of a current menu?
No, you'll have to do that bit yourself, look at how IFOEdit does things....it's a great reference tool.

I thought it was part of the mjpeg project...in any case, I have it installed on my machine.
My second task was to think of the whole process, using currently available open-source tools, to compress a DVD with full structure...Looks like I'll have to examine what IfoEdit can do to figure out the entire process...
